Her creative studio partners with publishers, design studios, ad agencies, creative departments and art galleries.

About the Artist

From hundreds of impressions, one composition.

Clare Celeste has been assimilating to different cultures and environments her entire life – having lived in Brazil, the US, Italy, Honduras, Argentina and Germany. Rich with texture and detail, each composition pays tribute to her capacity to transform her impressions of nature into hallucinogenic ecosystems of their own. She lives in Berlin with her husband and son.

About the Work

Clare Celeste brings thousands of hand cut images of flora and fauna together into lush and intricate compositions. Blooming with color, buzzing with insects, and brimming with foliage, the works are visually arresting and captivating.

The images come from natural history archives and most are pre-1900. Newer images are hand painted, photographed, or sourced from creative commons. For all tactile commissions, Clare Celeste’s images are printed on recycled 300 gram acid-free paper and hand cut.

Clare Celeste’s work is intricate and precise. The otherworldly and ethereal nature of the work is achieved through her attention to detail and craftsmanship.

I love to partner with clientele to create both tactile and digital commissions. My work has been featured in events, art galleries, editorial illustrations, window displays, children's books, interactive murals, product collaborations, and public installations.

I work with environmentally friendly materials and offer C02 neutral shipping and installation of all large-scale work. My studio runs on renewable wind energy.

Biodiversity Workshops

My artworks are evocative of our planet’s most diverse ecosystems. They are wonderful entry points into discussions about biodiversity and our planet.

I have an ongoing collaboration with biodiversity scientist Louisa Durkin, a researcher at the Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Center, whose studies focus on individual actions and biodiversity preservation.

Louisa and I bring together art, science and education around the topics of sustainability and biodiversity loss.
